Sisters Part 2 – Sandra – Urban Boho Chic

Sandra is the youngest of the sisters. A single Mom with an extremely demanding job and two young children, she is run off her feet most days. Sandra looks to her quiet moments in the evening for refuge from her corporate/chauffeur lifestyle.

Most evenings and weekends she can be found behind the wheel.

Chic suits with exquisite tailoring accented by modern details are called for most days but Sandra is quick to point out that she has to go from this to soccer mom without the aid of a telephone booth for quick changes. She looks for stylish versatility to help her jump from one role to another and usually keeps a “quick change” fashion kit in the car to assist on her most difficult days. Nothing like a good pair of lulu’s or jeans to help you go from corporate banker to your child’s cheerleader in one clean move!

Sandra has a keen eye for upcoming trends and gravitates towards tasteful sexy styling. As a young single mom she enjoys her girl time out on the town and loves jeans, a stud earring with sparkle and a sexy top with a draping long pedant.

Sandra Out on the Town

Sandra is totally a boots girls. She wears her beloved boots as long as she can through the spring, until that is, she has to breakdown and pull out her flip-flops, strappy sandals and heels for work. She claims it’s “boots to sandals and not much in between”.

Her rule for jewellery aligns with her overall rules for colour and clothes. Simplicity. Jewellery styling using layered delicates, like chains, hoops and simple bracelets. Cool colours surround her in both home furnishing and fashion. Staple neutrals of grey, black, navy and cream with a bonus pop of bashful blush, peach and light blue.

Sandra has a confident sense of her style and it can be seen by the fact that she does not have any fashion rules except one. She concedes that she will wear anything that makes her feel good except any clothing that has a brand name written across it. It bothers her to pay money for an item that just becomes a billboard for the company. She looks to confident women of style for inspiration. Ladies like Julia Roberts, Gwen Stefani and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Take Away Question

Here’s the question for today. The issue I would like you to think about. What is the full-stop point for you? Is there something that a company does in the name of marketing that is just too far? Do you have any issue being a spokesperson for a company through the simple wearing of their clothes?

Here are Sandra’s fantastic answers to the Simple Glamour for Real Women – Finishing Sentences Exercise

I am most confident when I am wearing…jeans, boots and a sexy sweater.

If I had to name my style it would be… a mix between boho chic and urban fashionista.

Most of what I know about modern fashion comes from…what I see on the streets, or on TV.

I am heavily influenced by…comfort.

I will never wear…granny panties.

Thank you Sandra for being such a good sport!  By the way, I know a couple of grannies who wear thongs. Maybe that will be the new “granny panty”. Let’s hope. Love that answer, girl!
