Living in Lycra – What to do with Active Wear
New year, new clothes, new you!!
Active wear will make up a large portion of your consumer purchases this month. Many of us have started new programs that focus on being more active and healthy.
While I applaud anyone who has made this brave decision to change their lifestyle, lets not forget that it is possible to look great while on the go.
Often the gym is our last stop after errands, kiddie carpooling and work related activities.
On York Region Daytime we talked about how to make active wear choices that are stylish and that can be part of an outfit.
Here are some pictures of pieces featured on the show with tips to help you lose the dreadful default jogging pants and zipper hoodie that we all have in our wardrobe and let’s make these full fashion outfits.
Simple two piece set in grey and white from Old Navy. Note: High collar detail
Draped with scarf from Zara and belted with a metallic copper belt. Disguise the cropped pant with a high cut boot.
Mimic the drape of the scarf neck line with the multi-metal finish of the Relic Statement Necklace from Stella & Dot.
Or top off your active wear outfit with this great wool car coat from Old Navy in this deep saturated burgundy.
Mimic the same high collar detail found in the top underneath.
Love this basket weave infinity scarf from Old Navy in a beautiful blush colour!
Or try this beautiful chunky knit in Winter White, also from Old Navy.
Basic active wear outfit from the Gap. Let’s add pieces to this to make it fabulous!
The pant features a colour block section on the calves in a bright pop of red. The main part of the leg is this wonderful charcoal grey!
The top is playful with streaks of grey, red and white. A perfect to bring in happy warm colours into winter.
For a little coverage at the gym top it off with this “stay-dry” long sleeve in a basic grey from the Gap.
Love this back with the peek-a-boo deep “V”.
Before heading out in the January cold top it all off with this great jersey dress in grey and cream from the Gap.
Pattern close up. Note the colour block effect happening with the grey long sleeve underneath!
Love this with the Westwood Metallic Scarf and the Kaia Pendant from Stella and Dot.
Finish the look by covering the red patterned colour block section on the leggings with the same high cut boots from Old Navy and for hands free convenience use the Waverly cross body bag in metallic from Stella & Dot.
